I was born in California, and have fond memories of homegrown tomatoes and freshly caught crawdads. My family moved a lot when I was growing up. I even lived on the East coast for a while. More about Leslie

I am in my late 40's and single and a bit selfish. Having no children and no spouse has allowed me to pretty much explore life in a much different way than most families would. More about Scott

Feeling better with better weather

Posted at 7:24 PM on May 5, 2008 by Paulette Thompson (1 Comments)

Hello everyone!
Thank you so much for your advice and your good wishes. Today I feel better than I have in weeks. It is nice to not feel as stiff, sore, and bruised as I had been. I am healing nicely.
Scott, yes, I allowed family and friends to feed me without a protest. You are right: such meals are restorative.
I have been going to my friend Renee, a licensed massage therapist, 1 - 2 times a week. Autumn, thank you for the information about St. John's Wort oil. I haven't found it yet, but I hope to. The arnica has been helpful. I always prefer less addictive remedies if at all possible.

I used my friend Pauline's deep jacuzzi (yes,it was clean) where I ended up staying for an hour with candles, music and an organic food magazine I found at the food co-op. Wonderful. Yeah, a good soak is addictive! A shout out to Kalpna for making that experience happen.

Vera (and Sasha), I have been able to make my own oatmeal. That was a great idea. Adding maple syrup and cream was just what this doctor ordered.

April, chocolate was a wonderful idea. I didn't drink the cherry juice in my fridge (I brought it back from Chelan in March), but found a pomegranate - grape juice from Eastern Washington. Leslie, believe it or not, I have been drinking it with the chocolate. The red grape juice mixed in was a stand in for the red wine.

Soon I will check out what Tim and the East Coast posse are up to.

Hi Paulette,
Glad to hear that you're on the mend. And I'm glad that the arnica has been helping. Take care!
