Is it "is" or is it "are?" Are they one thing or two?

It was brought to my attention the other day that I don't have a clue what Brad and Angelina are up to these days. Are they on the rocks? Have they adopted another child? What are they wearing? Are they the best dressed? Are they the worst? Are there any signs of grey hair or wrinkles? Where are they vacationing? Who have they been hanging out with? Has Jen re-entered the picture?

I used to be up on this when we shopped at the supermarket.
