The local food community is small in Eau Claire (or maybe I perceive it as small), but strong. Last week was local food week in Eau Claire. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the events, I only followed it in the newspaper. What I have been most impressed with is the UW Eau Claire students that spearheaded this event. The name of their club is the Foodlums (www.foodlums.blogspot.com). Their web site is a great resource on local food issues. They are having a progressive film festival on campus in two weeks that will be focusing on food issues. Very cool.
Hi Gina - thx so much for passing along the Foodlums link. It's a great web site. We're planning our first food-themed film festival for November in Kalamazoo, and I'll make sure our selection team checks out these films. Hope you get to see them & share comments.

Donna,
Glad to help. I am amazed at the things you are doing in Michigan. Wish I had that much energy.
