Friendship takes up the challenge

Friday night involved a situation where a quick meal was a must. I got off work at 6 and needed to be in my seats across town at the lacrosse game by 7pm. I was meeting a friend and I asked her to bring dinner. I never imagined how much she would take up the challenge.
I had already determined that I would never turn down anything non-local offered in the spirit of generosity, and I anticipated that this meal would be part of that plan. I was simply looking for something better than stadium food. What I got was a thermos full of warm squash, potato and leek soup. It was GREAT! Way better than the offerings at the game.
It was wonderful to see that a commitment that I made has influenced more than just my family.
While I was at the game, Brendan was off to Winterfest supporting locally brewed craft beers. As he says, "beer is food too!"
