I found fruit on Sunday. Not just any fruit, but Minnesota grown fruit. I was eying up the apple display thinking about how the baby needed some new applesauce. A little blue sticker caught my eye. It declared that i was about to eat a Haralson apple that was Minnesota grown! Hooray!
While these aren't my favorite eating variety, and the waistline certainly does not need an onslaught of pies, these would do. I was very worried that the skin would be thick and the texture mealy, but this might just be the best Haralson apple I have ever had.
Perhaps the cold weather (-35-ish with wind chill) is getting to my brain, but I did a happy dance in the store when I found these. They don't top the gift of raspberries, but who knew that a little fruit in the winter could bring such joy?
