Seafood Watch from the Monterey Bay Aquarium

California's Monterey Bay Aquarium is committed to supporting sustainable fisheries those operations managed in a way that supports a healthy marine environment and sustains seafood supplies for the future. To that end, they have developed a list of seafood products that they will and will not buy for their restaurant at the Aquarium. The list is updated as new information becomes available and we think it s an excellent resource for helping consumers make informed choices about the fish and seafood they buy.

Visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium's site at www.mbayaq.org for more information and their current recommendations.

To get further information on the benefits and health risks of seafood, visit these Web sites:

Seafood Watch partner organizations, including www.audubon.org and www.environmentaldefense.org, also have nutritional information on their Web sites.

Information is also available from the FDA's Seafood Hotline: 800-332-4010.
