Summer Love Tour: Getting From Point A to Point B

PHC staffer Nic Vetter is on the Summer Love tour with Garrison, Sara Watkins, Fred Newman and The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band and will update us periodically from the road.

Here's our lovely jet plane, that transported us on our longest flight leg Thursday night from New Hampshire to Dallas. Every night betwixt the hours of midnight and dawn, our production and flight crews have to load all of the equipment and luggage onto the plane and then unload it just hours (sometimes minutes) later. These brave strong men are literally sticking out their necks for us, and have the muscle aches to prove it. I try to help but, either out of chivalry or liability concerns, I somehow always get thwarted by the guys. Their process is so streamlined now I'm only getting in the way.

The pictures are from the first day of the tour before we left for Interlochen, as you might deduce from the daylight and the crew's buoyant dispositions.

By the by, it's hotter than whoopee in woolens down here. I think that's a Texan phrase.
