The whatever economy
I recently saw a sign in front of a hair salon: “First-time customers, whatever you want to pay!” Then, this morning, Boing-Boing put it together for me. We are in the Whatever Economy:
Okay, then, I would like to purchase a small cylindrical space in the middle of the room. I will make a cardboard cone and cut a door out of it.
Are you feeling the whatever blues?
It’s hard not to. But whatever doesn’t have to be a bad attitude, does it?
I will now quote Noel and Liam Gallagher. There’s a first time for everything:
“I’m free to be whatever I, whatever I chose, and I’ll sing the blues if I want.”
Say whatever you want.

Whatever you may imagine the current economic conditions are no accident. They were brought about as the result of people with an over-developed sense of entitlement such that they began to abuse the surplus power they found available to them for the taking.
Simply abusing surplus control to put a “positive spin” on situations for short-term gain does not mean that natural or logical consequences will just disappear.
Those consequences or credit for those consequences must go somewhere, and I have chosen to leverage the power of some abusers of entitlement so that I may wrest myself free of abusers of entitlements.
And, actually I believe anyone can do this, provided of course, you are legitimately innocent of things you were accused of.
