Guess What I Found - Emergency Prep Continues

I was digging around for cat litter this morning in the closet under the stairs and found two one gallon bottles of water -- part of an earlier attempt at emergency preparation. I wonder how old it is and whether age it matters in water. Anybody know?

Your new post funny. Water, if it's sealed is immortal. Not so
those who drink it after 30 days.

From http://www.thinking-emergency-kits.com/

"Commercially packaged or bottled water is the best choice for emergency water storage. If sealed and stored properly, the shelf life of commercially packaged water is indefinite. Nonetheless, long term storage may result in aesthetic defects, such as off-odor and taste, so it may be a good idea to rotate these stores periodically. "

"Bottled water must be processed in accordance with FDA good manufacturing practices and quality standard provisions. The date stamps you see on water packaged in the U.S. are voluntarily placed there by manufacturers, often as a SKU number."

The FDA has not established a shelf life for commercially packaged water, as it is considered to be indefinite.
