-In remembrance of the LA riots 4/29/92
-I am a Cal Berkeley student in the political science department.
-I believe that on Mayor Hahn's part, in response to the question concerning his involvement in Koreatown, he could have expressed a more adamant resolve towards making his presence more felt in the future, rather than continuously maintaining a defensive political stance. Obviously, the question was raised because it is a concern within the Korean Community, and his presence has not been felt by some. Therefore, he could have approached the question/statement in a more active light. I personally know the moderator, Richard Choi, who is an active representative of the Korean-Community, and take his observation on the mayor's presence as legitimate. Thus, I would hope that if the mayor wishes to gain continous support from the Korean-Community, he will need to show a greater interest.
