Pick the Veep!

Senator John McCain has clinched the Republican nomination. Whom should he choose as his running mate?

What factors should McCain be considering? Who would best complement his "maverick" style of Republicanism? Post your comment below!

Dave Guttman:

McCain has the international/warrior/budget hawk background, he should pick someone that helps him on the domestic/economic side, preferably someone with a nationally known name. Maybe Michael Bloomberg.

A move to center would tick off Rush and his ilk, but they woundn't be voting for Barak or Hillary

Juan dela Cruz:

He should pick someone who has the same unflinching stance regarding the war, and can inspire the conservative Republican base---someone preferably from the south, reflects strong, conservative values, but has the temperament of a moderate.

Only one name comes to mind: Condoleezza Rice.

John Howard:

Cansidering the recession we are now entering, there is one obvious candidate for Vice President who stands head and shoulders above all others - Michael Bloomberg.

Liz:

Condoleeza Rice if she will do agree to run.

Linda:

I think that Condoleeza Rice would be a good fit for him, although I do not want him to be President!
