Greening up the home PC
Microsoft, the nonprofit Climate Savers Computing Initiative and start-up company Verdiem are attempting to shine a light on the wasteful power consumption of the world's one billion personal computers. They're working together to persuade 10 million people to download a new, free program called Edison that streamlines the power consumption management features of Windows-based computers (Verdiem says it's working on a Mac version of Edison).
