Duping Digg
Digg is the popular site that posts news stories and blog entries recommended by its users. The idea is that quality stories rise to the top, geting prominent display on Digg.com. A spot on the Digg front page means many more readers.
But it turns out that Digg can be tricked into featuring stories NOT recommended by users. Analee Newitz, a contributing editor at Wired Magazine did just that.
Wired is a member of the same corporate family as Reddit, a Digg competitor. Some bloggers have criticized Wired for what they say is a cheap shot against the competition.
