The Edison
On November 21st, 1877, Thomas Edison announced he’d invented the first working recording device — the phonograph. 131 years later we’ve got Dolby, THX… and “The Edison,” the signature drink of the Edison bar in downtown L.A..
RECIPE as recounted by Aidan Demarest, beverage director at The Edison.
In a shaker, pour:
- 1 & 1/2 oz. Bourbon (the Edison uses home-infused lavender-honey Woodford Reserve)
- 3/4 oz. Belle de Brulee pear liqueur
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 1/2 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 oz. fresh squeezed pear juice
Strain into chilled martini glass.
