Drink Recipe: “Old-Fashioned”
Related to Dillinger because:
- Manhattan cocktails were popular in Dillinger’s day… and Old-Fashioneds are simply Manhattans with sugar and bitters added
- Also, Dillinger is from the past and so himself is “Old Fashioned”
Recipe, as prepared at Los Angeles’ Dresden Room:
In rocks glass, add:
- Less than ½ tsp bitters
- 1 tsp sugar
- Splash of club soda
Dilute with spoon.
Cover with ice.
Fill remainder of glass with bourbon.
Note: Violent disagreement as to whether club soda should ever be added to an Old-Fashioned.
