How are rising food and gas prices affecting you?

Gas prices in New Hampshire were hovering around $2.99 a gallon at the start of summer 2007, according to AAA. Now, prices are nearly a dollar higher a gallon. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics says food prices are on the rise as well.

For many of us, spending more on food and gas mean cuts elsewhere in our budget - putting off a vacation, holding off on major purchases or even using the credit card a little more than usual. On the other hand, rising costs bring out the "frugal New Englander" in some of us, growing food at home and finding ways to make more with less.
