What will you remember most about Senator Ted Kennedy?

The "Lion of the Senate," as he was called, left his mark on some of the most important legislation of the last half-century -- like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act and the 1993 Family and Medical Leave Act.

His life wasn't without controversy, though. The death of Mary Jo Kopechne, drowned 40 years ago in a car driven by the young senator, overshadowed his political career. And his presidential challenge to Jimmy Carter for re-election in 1980 failed.
