Songs from Scratch

Try your hand at writing original music for the Songs from Scratch lyrics!

The Fine Print:
You are invited to write original music (tune and arrangement) for the "Songs from Scratch" lyrics, to prepare an audio recording of the performance of that song, and to submit it to MPR ("your submission"). By providing your submission, you are affirming that the music, performance, and audio recording in your submission are your own. Your submission may be broadcast on the air, may be posted or used on Minnesota Public Radio Web sites, or may be retained for future use. MPR may edit your submission for size, clarity, content, or to meet file standards.

You grant MPR an unlimited, perpetual, nonexclusive, gratis license to use your submission in any media for any purpose, including broadcast, cable, and satellite radio, podcasts, and the Internet. MPR may broadcast portions of your submission and may use your submission for any purpose. MPR is not required to use your submission. MPR will retain first publishing rights to your submission. There is no direct paid or unpaid compensation for your submission.

MPR grants permission for you to use the "Songs from Scratch" song lyrics only for purposes of "Songs from Scratch". Any other use of the lyrics requires a license. For information, please contact the permissions coordinator at permissions@mpr.org or 651.290.1199.

You may be identified on any use of your submission, including the use of your full name and location. The personally identifying contact information you provide here will not be sold, shared, or used for purposes other than to contact you about your submission, and except to communicate with you about Minnesota Public Radio programs and activities if you chose "Yes" above.
