In Her Shoes

This was a very entertaining movie about two sisters that relied on each other, yet didn't always understand or like the others actions. Shirley MacLaine as their recently met grandmother is excellent. Her character and experience in theatre allow her to simply express her thoughts with facial expressions and physical mannerisms as well as with the spoken dialogue. It was fun to see the characters portrayed in the Florida retirement community. I recognized faces from television (probably 70's and 80's) that I don't place, but they were familiar. I have heard it referred to as a "Chick Flick". There were a few guys in the audience and they seemed to enjoy it for the comedy and drama the story brought forth. The situations of being in relationships- both in familys as well as friendships/dating, trying to make the right steps, and finding happiness or not are portrayed with realism and humor. I look forward to seeing it agian.
