Better Thank I thought

I liked hustle and flow. When you get right down to it, it was a movie about a family trying to better themselves.

Wonderful performance

I saw Hustle and Flow and I was very impressed at the depth of Mr. Howard's acting ability. He grew me into the movie and I because a person who forgot that this was actually a movie.

The movie moved me to tears. Mr. Howard's character was so real, so believable. He is truly a wonderful and very talented man. I hope to see more of him on the wide screen.

A Star Is Born

Terrace Howard transcends his role (and the script) as a person daring to actualize a dream seemingly out of his reach. The fabric of the plot is a common human condition;evaluating the choices we have made in our lives and hopefully, being introspective and mindful of how we want to live our lives. The film explores how Terrace Howard's character struggles to make his external life congruent to his evolving innner life. The character in the movie is morally and emotionally corrupt. One day he realizes that he has become nothing more than a low life street pimp, and aspires for more out of life. In the tradition of fine entertainment, this is a rags to riches dream.

Terrace Howard snares the viewing audience immediately...we can feel the character's emotional life. His inner struggle is palpable. The movie is an inspiration because despite some wrong choices we make in life (such as becoming a pimp), we all can embrace the American dream and we can always start over. It is a tribute to Howard's gifted acting that we not only care about this street pimp but want him to realize his dream.

Although I have seen Howard in other movies, this film was different as I realized history was being made. I was witness to the birth of a great actor. We will see Terrace Howard at the Oscars in the next few years. I encourage you to see this movie and the movie 'Crash'. His performances are provocative, emotionally and intellectually.
